Event Spotlight: Seattle Boat Show – January 24 – Feb. 2, 2014

Boating and fishing enthusiasts will be delighted with the Seattle Boat Show. Held from January 24 through February 2, the 2014 Seattle Boat Show offers something for every age.

The largest boat show on the west coast features over one thousand boats afloat at South Lake Union. A shuttle is provided to CenturyLink Field allowing attendees to participate in educational seminars and browse the latest in marine products and accessories.

Boating and Fishing Seminars

Even the most seasoned sailors will learn something new from the educational seminars at the Seattle Boat Show. Every day is chock-full of interesting and entertaining seminars and panels on a wide range of topics. More than 200 sessions ensure there is something for everyone.


Boating seminars include safety and emergency preparedness, boating with a partner and specific sessions about boating in various regions all over the world. Anglers learn the best techniques to catch salmon, lingcod, shrimp and more at the broad variety of fishing seminars.

Affordable Fun

There are many benefits to convenient online ordering. Advance tickets cost $12 for adults, $5 for youth ages 11 through 17 and children ages 10 and under attend free.

For those wishing to attend more than one day of the show, the five-day pass is the best value. At only $24, the pass allows individuals to attend the show five days for the price of two.

Enjoy a day of fun for the whole family for only $49. The Family Pack includes two adult tickets, two youth tickets, four hot dogs and a day of free parking.

Boating University

Learn from nautical experts at Boating University. These advanced seminars offer three hours of practical enrichment from experts in the field. Tickets for each Boating University course are available for $39, but for $139 individuals can attend any four Boating University courses and receive a five-day pass to the show.

Women’s Day

Women’s Day is January 27. Sponsored by KOMO-TV, the Women’s Day pass allows women to enjoy the show for free and includes special seminars focusing on topics that are relevant to women boaters.

Seattle residents and visitors alike can take part in the exciting 2014 Seattle Boat Show. Thousands of boats, educational seminars and marine vendors combine to create a fun-filled marine extravaganza, indoors and afloat.
