About the Sehome Neighborhood
Sehome is a neighborhood just south of downtown Bellingham, WA, and just north of Western Washington University. This makes Sehome an up-and-coming neighborhood with a lot to offer anyone who chooses to make this their home.
Situated partly in the middle of town and with its south end hugging Sehome Hill Park, it’s a perfect place for anyone who wants to mix outdoor lifestyles with city pleasures. This, combine with unique businesses like the Community Food Co-op Café and Interstate 5 right on its southwestern end, make Sehome an ideal choice for many new residents.
Real Estate in Sehome
There are plenty of Houses and Condos for sale in this neighborhood, with most condos having one or two bedrooms and the same number of bathrooms. Homes tend to have two-four bedrooms and usually two bathrooms. The space for Condos varies but usually is between 500-1,000 square feet, making them perfect for singles and couples that are just starting out.
Houses are larger, and many have enormous lots closer to Sehome Hill and Sehome Arboretum. Houses are anywhere from 5 to over 100 years old and many use Natural Gas for heat. Some of the fabulous kitchens have granite countertops and are large enough for your family’s needs.
What Bellingham and the surrounding area is like
Sehome is in the middle of everything Bellingham has to offer, from Western Washington University and its Western Gallery full of fine art to the trails on Sehome Hill which are perfect for hikers, to Bellingham’s Downtown area, which is full of clubs like the Wild Buffalo House of Music and the Upfront Theatre, giving this city fantastic nightlife opportunities.
Just North of Downtown is the Bellingham Marina, where you can take your boat and sail right out onto beautiful Bellingham Bay.
This, along with Sudden Valley Marina on Nearby Lake Whatcom are great options during the temperate summer months. Schools like Bellingham High are perfect to send your kids to, and all around the city, there are great options for outdoor recreation year round. It’s also close enough that you can take a day trip to cities like Seattle, Vancouver, and Victoria to see all that they can give.
